Design for Photographer, Corine Vermeulen’s series, Readers of the Cosmos, shot in Mexico City.Readers of the Cosmos was produced in collaboration with Laboratorio para la Ciudad, a creative think-tank of the local government of Mexico City centered around urban creativity and civic innovation. This photographic series considers the concept of the city’s rooftops as public space, and as temporary havens for refuge and connection. Looking at Corine's work in general there are themes of blue and pink, so we decided to use blue text and a photo for the cover with the same color scheme to keep her projects cohesive. <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/60d912c115d01168e95a058705bf370f3f6a11e412e977cdd72b8ab257e8468b/spreads-titlepage-black_F.jpg" data-mid="85044569" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/60d912c115d01168e95a058705bf370f3f6a11e412e977cdd72b8ab257e8468b/spreads-titlepage-black_F.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/680430245ad0f0d98d2314b9d3683a2f986346c959eaace1765f93a277c161d9/spreads-girl-black_2.jpg" data-mid="84578983" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/680430245ad0f0d98d2314b9d3683a2f986346c959eaace1765f93a277c161d9/spreads-girl-black_2.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/3bb3219f01ca20e8dff692832c3b64a31d2aeeaeefad81a279ed6015a287b5fc/spreads-trump-black_2.jpg" data-mid="84578259" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/3bb3219f01ca20e8dff692832c3b64a31d2aeeaeefad81a279ed6015a287b5fc/spreads-trump-black_2.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/460a3f12b9e93aab4acadd0df1da96ae045eb0399e3841e19a9c396bf59c20d1/spreads-fence-black.jpg" data-mid="84949631" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/460a3f12b9e93aab4acadd0df1da96ae045eb0399e3841e19a9c396bf59c20d1/spreads-fence-black.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/e03fb745cf161ae6d5ce835da69a3eb085f75c0e752abfcafdbeae3e4e9ba6ba/spreads-flowers-black_2.jpg" data-mid="84582536" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/e03fb745cf161ae6d5ce835da69a3eb085f75c0e752abfcafdbeae3e4e9ba6ba/spreads-flowers-black_2.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/516d0bd38c3e73f00ffb4ec8433880ee294233934670bd8d4a6cb34038a85a1a/spreads-redroof-black.jpg" data-mid="83493749" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/516d0bd38c3e73f00ffb4ec8433880ee294233934670bd8d4a6cb34038a85a1a/spreads-redroof-black.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/5c48af8bef1eb20d6cf8f1cb7870dc463f2a1642ba5745d8263825597a710ba2/spreads-frame-black.jpg" data-mid="83492292" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/5c48af8bef1eb20d6cf8f1cb7870dc463f2a1642ba5745d8263825597a710ba2/spreads-frame-black.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/11b2fa98b39c317978088e0d88b1b2e647b961b9e37885b14674398b33e78832/spreads-essay1-black.jpg" data-mid="83495254" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/11b2fa98b39c317978088e0d88b1b2e647b961b9e37885b14674398b33e78832/spreads-essay1-black.jpg" /> <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/afae03dd146d8c8996d9f5e332faaba79558567bea28e85045e008b5dd016563/spreads-essay2-black2.jpg" data-mid="84950524" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/afae03dd146d8c8996d9f5e332faaba79558567bea28e85045e008b5dd016563/spreads-essay2-black2.jpg" /> <img width="1440" height="1080" width_o="1440" height_o="1080" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/a6a7d8bd3e9e994a3722fd634e580dd4f8ff4e1cbe89f6b8787bb24507d75d9c/ROTC_cover-black-2.jpg" data-mid="85044301" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/a6a7d8bd3e9e994a3722fd634e580dd4f8ff4e1cbe89f6b8787bb24507d75d9c/ROTC_cover-black-2.jpg" /> https://evazielinski.com/Everyone-Everywhere Wed, 30 Sep 2020 08:09:17 +0000 Eva Zielinski https://evazielinski.com/Everyone-Everywhere Everyone Everywhere Book Design <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/3c3ca88fc214d39fe333be64fff094cf8c99d17fcb18b74c68bf62d219320c75/CITYOFDESIGN-COVER.jpg" data-mid="84820439" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/3c3ca88fc214d39fe333be64fff094cf8c99d17fcb18b74c68bf62d219320c75/CITYOFDESIGN-COVER.jpg" /> Studio: The Work DepartmentFormat: 9.75 x 6.25 in. This design was created by remixing the Fall 14 poster. The previous poster was a line pattern created as a heavy stroke and no fill. To create the new pattern I essentially inverted and shifted the design, so there was a fill color, but no stroke. This gave the same design a totally different appearance. <img width="2684" height="1584" width_o="2684" height_o="1584" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/ac460858ea2b0b5ef5a37369f5d5dfcf780cb8c66273d1ffb0612b67099e57fe/Screen-Shot-2021-01-02-at-10.22.01-PM.png" data-mid="93726268" border="0" data-scale="67" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/ac460858ea2b0b5ef5a37369f5d5dfcf780cb8c66273d1ffb0612b67099e57fe/Screen-Shot-2021-01-02-at-10.22.01-PM.png" />&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<img width="2450" height="1704" width_o="2450" height_o="1704" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/5a557f3fbdeee6020b8a76f81e0acc04ce6592c3a56a28eba49a97ee363800f1/Screen-Shot-2021-01-02-at-10.23.00-PM.png" data-mid="93726303" border="0" data-scale="56" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/5a557f3fbdeee6020b8a76f81e0acc04ce6592c3a56a28eba49a97ee363800f1/Screen-Shot-2021-01-02-at-10.23.00-PM.png" /> https://evazielinski.com/We-Care-a-Lot Wed, 09 Sep 2020 20:15:41 +0000 Eva Zielinski https://evazielinski.com/We-Care-a-Lot We Care a Lot: Stewardship of the Land in the Neighborhood → Conservation → Coalition → Collaboration Book Design <img width="2000" height="1500" width_o="2000" height_o="1500" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/533b8e8427af364cf8843c522c69de72ea5134d4b8e4d5301479ff5e2a879521/Wcal_photos3-green.jpg" data-mid="85384300" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/533b8e8427af364cf8843c522c69de72ea5134d4b8e4d5301479ff5e2a879521/Wcal_photos3-green.jpg" /> 20 pagesAccordion foldFormat: 39 x 8.5 in.Supported by:Kulturbehörde Hamburg, Goethe Institut Chicago, HFBK Hamburg/Hochschule für bildende Künste (the University of Fine Arts)&nbsp; ︎Download the PDF ︎Read about the Detroit encounters A project by students traveling from Hamburg through Chicago, Detroit and back to Hamburg seeking artists, activists and practitioners fostering new ways of living and thinking within cities. This publication presents a chain of questions and answers by artists, architects, designers, and activists, lead by Design for the Living World and their collaborators, Tricia Van Eck of 6018North in Chicago and Kerstin Niemann of FILTER in Hamburg/Detroit. DFLW posed a question to someone, who then, after answering it, asked a new question, which was passed on to the next person. In this way, a fruitful exchange was created between Chicago, Detroit, and Hamburg. Design for the Living World was a class on participatory practices conducted by Marjetica Potrč at HFBK Hamburg / Hochschule für bildende Künste (the University of Fine Arts) Hamburg. It ran from 2011 to 2018. <img width="700" height="717" width_o="700" height_o="717" Like a Thousand Years Ago, is a project by artist&nbsp;Jennifer Bennett in partnership with FILTER Detroit and Popps Packing, an artist-run neighborhood-based nonprofit organization. Popps Packing hosted a series of clay and pit firing workshops with Jennifer, who collected and processed clay from Ohio and Detroit that was used by participants to create small scale works such as sound balls, beads, little sculptures and vessels. All works were fired over night in a pit, an ancient practice still employed around the world. Jennifer sent me photos of all the pieces she was going to use for the workshop resulting in this rather abstract poster of building blocks which almost read as symbols. <img width="1024" height="768" width_o="1024" height_o="768" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/d7d51c0735dfe9ea3ba70adb05b2537ef591625e6ad7258cb54611a78e35c662/DSC00527-1024x768.jpg" data-mid="209451014" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/d7d51c0735dfe9ea3ba70adb05b2537ef591625e6ad7258cb54611a78e35c662/DSC00527-1024x768.jpg" /> <img width="1024" height="768" width_o="1024" height_o="768" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/227b62cd32669dd05eaf1dcbc1caf9efcc798b93655cba93c9dd2381ae4bd9ec/DSC00643-1024x768.jpg" data-mid="209451015" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/227b62cd32669dd05eaf1dcbc1caf9efcc798b93655cba93c9dd2381ae4bd9ec/DSC00643-1024x768.jpg" /> https://evazielinski.com/Hilberry-Theatre Sat, 12 Sep 2020 23:39:26 +0000 Eva Zielinski https://evazielinski.com/Hilberry-Theatre Hilberry Theatre Poster Series <img width="946" height="1336" width_o="946" height_o="1336" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/73c841a17c573e3b2c493f553d844fdd92c284552d82bc4365fec14b3c63ae73/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.36.55-PM.jpg" data-mid="82531557" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/946/i/73c841a17c573e3b2c493f553d844fdd92c284552d82bc4365fec14b3c63ae73/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.36.55-PM.jpg" /> <img width="912" height="1312" width_o="912" height_o="1312" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/ec46f840ff5fdf13ff94ade64dec31f8bc23c3576c6cd10892a36f4368c1323a/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.49.22-PM.jpg" data-mid="82531440" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/912/i/ec46f840ff5fdf13ff94ade64dec31f8bc23c3576c6cd10892a36f4368c1323a/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.49.22-PM.jpg" /> <img width="918" height="1294" width_o="918" height_o="1294" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/9f4932929e4ce19af7dc86127bf4926f64e5693e552a167846fbfb3df9c2ef41/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.49.11-PM.jpg" data-mid="82531564" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/918/i/9f4932929e4ce19af7dc86127bf4926f64e5693e552a167846fbfb3df9c2ef41/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.49.11-PM.jpg" /> <img width="892" height="1272" width_o="892" height_o="1272" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/10c5a39baf4aac0dea025f25525f56b39ac0cd63115c66b03d2465b30b3c36ed/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.48.51-PM.jpg" data-mid="82531508" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/892/i/10c5a39baf4aac0dea025f25525f56b39ac0cd63115c66b03d2465b30b3c36ed/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.48.51-PM.jpg" /> <img width="940" height="1328" width_o="940" height_o="1328" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/224a3ac5971d980240e077b989a88c97db0062619022fb48c2f01b42c225206d/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.48.27-PM.jpg" data-mid="82531502" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/940/i/224a3ac5971d980240e077b989a88c97db0062619022fb48c2f01b42c225206d/Screen-Shot-2020-09-12-at-7.48.27-PM.jpg" /> Format: 11.7 x 16.5 in.
